New Athens home prices fall in the third quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2018 in New Athens fell by $5,625 while total sales increased by 33.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2018, there were eight homes sold, with a median sale price of $70,125 - a 7.4% decrease over the $75,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were six homes sold in New Athens in the third quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in New Athens for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $2,338.40, approximately 3.3% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2018.
