New Athens home prices rise in the second half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2018 in New Athens rose by $8,500 while total sales increased by 20%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2018, there were 18 homes sold, with a median sale price of $82,500 - a 11.5% increase over the $74,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 15 homes sold in New Athens in the second half of 2017.

The median sales tax in New Athens for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $2,338, approximately 2.8% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2018.
