East St. Louis home prices rise in the second half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2018 in East St. Louis rose by $3,665 while total sales increased by 6.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2018, there were 47 homes sold, with a median sale price of $14,415 - a 34.1% increase over the $10,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 44 homes sold in East St. Louis in the second half of 2017.

The median sales tax in East St. Louis for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $543, approximately 3.8% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2018.
