TOUCHETTE REGIONAL HOSPITAL: Partners with Horizon Health for Behavioral Health Services Management and Staffing

Partnership

Touchette Regional Hospital issued the following announcement on April 2.

Touchette Regional Hospital (TRH) has announced that it has partnered with Horizon Health Behavioral Health Services (Horizon) to manage and staff TRH’s Behavioral Health & Wellness Center. Horizon specializes in helping hospitals better serve patients with mental illness through implementation of best practice techniques by improving efficiencies and care managed to the highest standards of accountability.

“We are very excited to begin this partnership with Horizon,” said Sulbrena Day, PhD, chief operating officer/chief nursing officer of TRH. “By joining forces with this organization, Touchette will be able to expand its reach of fully integrated behavioral health services to communities across the entire region.”

New TRH staff members are in place to assist with this transition. Lynn Lemke, MS Ed and MHSA, serves as the Executive Director of Behavioral Health. He comes to TRH from Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, where he served as Executive Director of Behavioral Health. Also, Gretchen Jackson, LCPC, serves as Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health. She comes to TRH from SIHF Healthcare where her role was in providing behavioral healthcare services.

In 2016 improvements to the Behavioral Health & Wellness Center were completed, offering much-needed inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services to individuals from across the region and a large area of the State of Illinois. Day said TRH’s initial priorities with Horizon are to build on these improvements by enhancing patient access to services, referrals, and staff education. “Creating the best possible patient experience is at the top of our list,” added Day.

Horizon has been assisting hospitals in managing their behavioral health programs for 37 years. The organization is dedicated to maintaining and improving effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of quality services to the patients of its hospital partners.

One of the new features under Horizon is the establishment of an intake hotline for inpatient or outpatient referrals. Referral agencies or providers should now call Touchette at 618-332-4038 24 hours a day, seven days a week for questions and all behavioral health referrals for both inpatient and outpatient services.

“Horizon has demonstrated a commitment to providing behavioral healthcare services that are accessible and patient-centered,” said Joe Jansen, President of TRH. “Touchette shares those same values, which will make this partnership a great one. TRH continues to look for ways to improve the overall patient experience and to serve as a reliable provider of healthcare services in the region.”
