BELLEVILLE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL: Memorial Foundation Names Scholar Athletes for March

Belleville Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on April 11.

Kylah Krause of Belleville and Brock Loesche of Freeburg have been named Memorial Foundation Scholar Athletes of the Month for March.

Krause, a senior at Belleville East High School, has a 4.97 GPA and participates in ice hockey and Lacrosse. She has been a member of the Mississippi Valley Club Hockey Association (MVCHA) all-star team and was a member of the 2019 MVCHA 2A championship team. She has been member of the Belleville East Ice Hockey and Lacrosse teams for four years, serving as the Lacrosse team captain for the past two years. Krause was a member of the Tier I AAA St. Louis Lady Blues from 2014-2017 and currently is a member of Tier I AAA Dallas Stars Elite Team. A member of National Honor Society, Krause also is a member of the Science, French and English Honor Societies and has been on the honor roll. She is a member of the French Club, First Priority Christian Youth Group and was named an Illinois State Scholar. Krause has volunteered at goaltending camps and at various community runs and Belleville Area Humane Society. She also has served as a tutor and volunteered for Club NF at the Steinberg Ice Rink to help children with neurofibromatosis learn to skate. Recruited to play women’s ice hockey, Krause will attend University Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the fall where she plans to major in biomedical science/medical laboratory science.

A senior at Freeburg High School, Loesche has a 4.5 GPA and plays baseball and golf. He is captain of the golf team and is a member of the Spirit Club, Model United Nations, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Spanish Club. Loesche is a volunteer at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and a counselor at American Diabetes Association’s Camp EDI. Loesche plans to attend Auburn to major in psychology with pre-law advising. After graduation from Auburn, he plans to attend law school and has aspirations of being an attorney in Washington, D.C.
