Granite City home prices fall in January 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in January 2017 in Granite City fell by $3,903 while total sales increased by 48.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In January 2017, there were 55 homes sold, with a median sale price of $35,000 - a 10% decrease over the $38,903 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 37 homes sold in Granite City in January 2016.

The median sales tax in Granite City for 2017 was $1,487. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,515. This marks an decrease of 1.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 4.2%.
