The data shows that 20 men and one women were released in Belleville. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 40. The youngest parolee is a 24-year-old man sentenced for crimes against justice in 2018, and the oldest is a 64-year-old man sentenced for crimes against a person in 2017.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest is John Ball Jr. He was convicted of property crimes in 2010 when he was 16 years old. He is now 25.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
