Q3 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in St. Clair County?

There were 88 offenders released on parole during the third quarter that live in St. Clair County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Metro East Sun.

The data shows that 82 men and six women were released in St. Clair County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 37. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2016, and the oldest was a 77-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Randy L. Thomas. He was convicted of homicide in 1989 when he was 23 years old. He is now 53.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter in each St. Clair County municipality.
