The data shows that 20 men and three women were released in the East Alton zip code. Of the parolees, two were veterans, and the median age was 37. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old woman convicted of a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 58-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2016.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Johnnie Yarborough. He was convicted of a property crime in 2011, when he was 23 years old. He is now 30.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
