Mike Bost, who has represented Illinois’ 12th district in the U.S. Congress since 2015 and previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives and on the Jackson County Board, recently addressed issues related to national policy and agricultural security through a series of social media posts.

The following day, July 11, 2025, Bost raised concerns about foreign influence in American agriculture. Mike Bost was born in Murphysboro, Illinois in 1960 and continues to reside there. He graduated from the University of Illinois' Certified Firefighter II Academy in 1993.
