Collinsville Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Aug. 20.

Representatives from Scott Credit Union’s Community Foundation recently presented a check for $25,000 to support the United Way of Greater St. Louis.

The money was raised during Scott Credit Union Community Foundation’s 13th annual golf tournament fundraiser held in May at The Orchards Golf Course in Belleville. Maura Wuellner, Director of the Illinois Region for the United Way of Greater St. Louis, was at SCU to accept the check.

More than 120 golfers and dozens of area sponsors turned out for the golf event that raised more than $50,000. Scott Credit Union has held the tournament each year since 2007 as a fundraiser. The tournament has raised more than $300,000 in its 13-year history.

The Scott Credit Union Community Foundation was established in 2018 and the proceeds from the annual golf tournament will be donated to community organizations. The foundation also will support education in the area.

“We were excited about the opportunity to aid United Way in its efforts to help people from throughout our area with our golf tournament and our employee campaign which will take place later in the year,” Scott Credit Union Community Foundation President Frank Padak said. “This is our way of showing our support for what United Way does in our area.”
