CITY OF HIGHLAND PARK: Please join us to honor a true American hero on Friday, September 27

Veteran

City of Highland issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.

Navy Commander William "Bill" Tschudy survived 7 1/2 years in a North Vietnamese prison camp due to his patriotism, courage, extreme determination, resourcefulness, and devotion to duty. He was a senior at HHS when he first volunteered for military service.

He is returning to Highland to be inducted into the HHS Alumni Hall of Fame. Please join Mayor Michaelis and many others in honoring Cmdr. Tschudy by taking a few minutes out of your morning on Friday, September 27, to line the parade route shown on the map (link below).

The parade is scheduled to leave Highland High School at approximately 10:30 a.m., and will end at Rinderer Park for the dedication of a new bench honoring the Highland area's Prisoners of War.
