Alton Community Unit School District 11 Board of Education met June 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

“The Board members have been provided with a copy of the proposed 2018-19 amended budget and will consider it for passage later this morning.

The school district is required to post its annual budget as well as any amendments on the web site, which will be done within 30 days of passage. The school district is also required to notify parents or guardians of its availability, which was done via the school calendar. In addition, required notification of the availability of the amended budget was published in the Telegraph.” (The public hearing ended with no public comments).

The meeting was held at the Administrative Center, 550 Landmarks Blvd., Suite A, Alton, Illinois. President, David Fritz, called the meeting to order at 7:34 a.m.

Members of the Board who answered present were: Ed Gray, Rosetta Brown, David Fritz, David Goins, David Lauschke and Vivian Monckton

Staff members who attended the meeting were: Mark Cappel, Superintendent; Mary Schell, Director of Finance; Wendy Adams, Director of Human Resources; Brian Saenz (observing) and Kara Twichell, Secretary to the Board of Education

Reading of Communications and Petitions – None

Motion: Approval of the Agenda

It was moved by Mrs. Brown, seconded by Mr. Goins and carried unanimously that the Board of Education approve the Agenda as presented for June 25, 2019.

Citizens’ Agenda – Opportunity for Community and Staff Comments and Input- None

Motion: Adoption of the Amended Budget for the Alton Community Unit School District for the 2018-2019 Fiscal Year

It was moved by Mr. Macias, seconded by Mrs. Brown and carried unanimously that the Board of Education approve the Adoption of the Amended Budget for the Alton Community School District for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

Motion: Approval of the Interfund Loan from Operations and Maintenance Fund to Education Fund

It was moved by Mr. Lauschke, seconded by Mrs. Brown and carried unanimously that the Board of Education authorize an Interfund Loan to the Education Fund from the Operations and Maintenance Fund for $3,850,000 with said Interfund Loan to be repaid within three years.
