Bethalto Community Unit School District 8 Board of Education met Aug. 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Presiding: Mr. Tom Beiermann

Members Present: Mr. Middleton, Mr. Meiser and Mrs. Rothe.

Members Absent: Mr. Whaley, Mr. Woelfel and Mr. Stassi.

Others Present: Dr. Jill Griffin, Superintendent; Dr. Barrett Deist, Assistant Superintendent of Finance & Operations; Dr. Kelly McClain, Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment.

Minutes Taken By: Mr. Middleton, Secretary and Mrs. Fitzgerald, Secretary.

CALL TO ORDER

At 4:00 P.M., the Special Meeting of the Board of Education of Bethalto Community Unit #8 was called to order.

PUBLIC COMMENT (ACTION ITEMS)

CLOSED SESSION

At 4:15 P.M., it was moved by Meiser and seconded by Beiermann to enter closed session to discuss collective negotiating matters between the Board and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees as provided under Section 2(c)(2) of the Open Meetings Act (5ILCS 120/2).

At 4:27 p.m. it was moved by Meiser and seconded by Rothe to return to open session. Motion carried. (4-0)

ACTION ITEMS

APPROVE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE BEA AND THE BOARD OF EDUCATION FOR THE 2019-20, 2020-21 & 2021-22 SCHOOL YEARS

It was moved by Meiser and seconded by Rothe to approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the BEA and the Board of Education for the 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 School Years.

Roll Call: Yeas: Middleton, Meiser, Rothe and Beiermann. Nays: None. Motion carried.

PERSONNEL

CERTIFIED RESIGNATION – AMANDA BEISER – SPECIAL EDUCATION

It was moved by Meiser and seconded by Rothe to accept the resignation of Amanda Beiser as Special Education Teacher at Trimpe Middle Schook, effective August 7, 2019.

Motion carried. (4-0)

PUBLIC COMMENT 

None.

ADJOURNMENT

At 4:30 P.M., it was moved by Meiser and seconded by Rothe that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried. (4-0)
