Republican House candidate Amy Elik is slated to host a fundraiser on Nov. 19 at the LoveJoy Event Center in Alton in her run against state Rep. Monica Bristow (D-Alton) in the 111th District.
The two-hour event is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 p.m. and will feature House Republican Leader Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) as a special guest. Ticket prices for the event start at $100 per individual, and sponsorships are available up to $1,000.
Blasting Bristow not keeping many of the promises she made as a candidate, Elik has touted her campaign as a vehicle for change. She has also said that her background as a certified public accountant and auditor are in tune with what the state needs at this time.
The 111th District includes all or part of Alton, Bethalto, East Alton, Edwardsville, Elsah, Godfrey, Granite City, Hartford, Madison, Pontoon Beach, Roxana, South Roxana and Wood River.
