Analysis: Swansea pays $15.43 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Swansea Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 93.9 percent of the $226,430 the Swansea Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $15.43 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Swansea contributed $212,653 to the fund, which saw a $2,803 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $13,777, or 6.1 percent, in 2018.
