City of Granite City Economic Development & Negotiations Committee met July 7.

Alderman Elliott called the Economic Development & Negotiations Committee Meeting to order.

Elliott turned over to Juneau to discuss the property at 4723 Benning St. to be annexed out of the City into the County.

Juneau stated this property is by Morrison Rd. and Pontoon Rd.; the resident is the only one on the road.

MOTION By Elliott, second by McDowell to allow the property at 4724 Benning St. to be de-annexed out of the City and have the Attorney bring in the necessary paper work. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

Elliott turned the Meeting over to Attorney Leo Konzen.

Attorney Leo Konzen stated that we have and Ordinance approving redevelopment agreement between City of Granite City and Penny Lane, LLC IN Rt. 3 Corridor Redevelopment project area, this needs to be adopted tonight. Weber signed redevelopment agreement back 2018 and now that they have fulfilled their agreement, we need to proceed with this so Weber can proceed with any tax increments that are owed to them.

Economic Director Cathy Hamilton stated that we have the signed document. First phase is demo, second is the development of the property. There will be a lot of activity over the next six months on the project.

MOTION By Elliott, second by Jackstadt to place on final passage the Ordinance approving redevelopment agreement between City of Granite City and Penny Lane, LLC in Rt. 3 Corridor Redevelopment project area. ALL VOTE YES. Motion Carried.

Elliott stated that next is an Ordinance to authorize a request for proposals to develop seven acres in the Route 3 Corridor Industrial Park TIF District that is up for approval tonight; the is behind Weber where the shingle property is.

Economic Director Cathy Hamilton stated assuming everything turns out for the City; we are still in the process on purchasing the property. What I am asking that we amend so that we RFP the property.

MOTION By Elliott, second by Mathes to approve and Place on final passage an Ordinance to authorize a request for proposals to develop seven acres in the route 3 Corridor Industrial Park TIF district to ament tonight as discussed tonight. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by McDowell to adjourn the Economic Development & Negotiations Committee Meeting. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried,

MEETING ADJOURNED.
