Fairview-Caseyville TWP FPD responds to 61 fires in 2018

Fairview-Caseyville Township Fire Protection District responded to 229 calls in 2018 - 10.5 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Fairview-Caseyville included 61 fires - 29 structure fires, 12 vehicle fires and 20 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $230,023 in fire loss - or about $3,771 per fire.

The department also received 166 false calls, including four malicious calls and 162 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury. Additionally, one fire service member was injured in non fire-related incidents.

The Fairview-Caseyville Township Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $1,519,715 in 2018.
