Glen Carbon Fire Protection District responded to 64 calls in 2018 - 19 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Glen Carbon included 16 fires - six structure fires, seven vehicle fires and three other fires.

In all, the department saw $127,800 in fire loss - or about $7,988 per fire.

The department also received 48 false calls.

One fire service member was injured in non fire-related incidents.

The Glen Carbon Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $2,677,559 in 2018.
