Illinois State Senate District 56 issued the following announcement on Nov. 9.
State Senators Christopher Belt (D-Centreville) and Rachelle Crowe (D-Glen Carbon) celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, Nov. 8-14.
“Apprenticeships give aspiring professionals the real-world experience they need to get an advantage in the job market,” Belt said. “Apprenticeships also help employers retain and develop a highly skilled staff, which helps increase the efficiency and growth of their business.”
National Apprenticeship Week is a nationwide celebration that gives businesses, communities and educators the opportunity to highlight their apprenticeship programs and apprentices, as well as to demonstrate the value apprenticeship programs offer businesses, career seekers and their communities.
“By prioritizing fulfilling careers in the labor industry, apprenticeships provide quality experience and opportunities to trade students while increasing workplace success,” Crowe said. “Working families support the Metro East’s safety, prosperity and economic development. I commend their contributions to our communities during National Apprenticeship Week and all year round.”
