After a reduced schedule in the spring of 2021, the Cougars return for a full fall for the first time since 2019, playing 17 regular season games and a pair of exhibitions contests.
The Cougars will open the season with an exhibition match at Memphis (Aug. 15) before welcoming the new school year with a preseason tilt with IUPUI (Aug. 21). The game will be featured as part of the SIUE Experience, SIUE's extended freshman orientation weekend.
The regular season begins in Wisconsin, where SIUE will face the Badgers (Aug. 26) before traveling to Marquette (Aug. 29). They also will face Belmont (Sept. 6) in a nonconference before the return of the marquee match-up, the Bronze Boot game at Saint Louis (Sept. 14). SIUE will welcome Central Arkansas in the final home nonconference match (Oct. 12).
The Cougars will host a pair of nonconference opponents at Korte Stadium beginning with Air Force (Sept. 3). Kansas City (Sept. 10) also will come to Edwardsville.
The Cougars also make their return to the Missouri Valley Conference in 2021, returning to the conference which saw them win a regular season title and two tournament titles in six seasons in the Valley.
The Valley schedule opens with home contests against Missouri State (Sept. 19) and Bradley on Homecoming (Sept. 25). SIUE also will play Valley home games with Drake (Oct. 9), Evansville (Oct. 27) and Loyola (Oct. 31).
SIUE will travel for road conference games at Evansville (Sep. 29), Loyola (Oct. 3), Missouri State (Oct. 17), Bradley (Oct. 23) and Drake (No. 6).
All six Valley teams will qualify for the Missouri Valley Championship, which begin with the quarterfinal matches Nov. 9 on campus sites. The semifinals and championship will be played Nov. 12-14 at the home site of the regular season champion.
