Home prices decreased in New Athens during the second half of 2021

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2021 in New Athens fell by $15,000 while total sales remained unchanged with 23 homes sold, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2021, there were 23 homes sold, with a median sale price of $75,000 - a 16.7% decrease over the $90,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 23 homes sold in New Athens in the second half of 2020, as well.

The median sales tax in New Athens for the most recent year with available data, 2019, was $2,271, approximately 3% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2021.
