Illinois gubernatorial candidate Gary Rabine is celebrating the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in January to block the Biden Administration from enforcing vaccine or test requirements for large private companies.

“We won our lawsuit against the Biden/OSHA Vaccine Mandate at the US Supreme Court on 1/14/22 for a reason, because it is unethical, unconstitutional and illegal!,” Rabine posted on his Facebook site. “When I win as your governor, it will be against the law for any person in any job to be forced to take a vaccine.”

In the Facebook post, Rabine linked a WGN article on firefighters losing pay for noncompliance with Chicago's vaccine mandate. WGN reported the city reports about 550 of the city's nearly 4,800 firefighters are unvaccinated.

“When I win, I will hire every good FireFighter back with signing bonuses and I will fight to have a law put in place to never allow this kind of Dictator Overreach again,” Rabine said on Facebook.

Rabine pointed out that about a decade ago he was a founder of an organization called Job Creators Network. “That organization has done some great things to fight terrible, stupid regulation that kills jobs across America and this is the granddaddy of them all,” he said recently. “When Biden was going to be passing down this law, we knew about it. We knew that we were going to go after this because we knew that this was against our freedoms in America. There's no way small businesses like ours wanted to be the vaccine police to our employees."

Rabine has also criticized current Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker's legacy of handling the COVID-19 pandemic and rising crime rates. “When politics, not people, are your main concern as Governor, this is what happens," Rabine said in a post on his campaign website. "COVID chaos and a crime epidemic are Pritzker’s legacy. It’s time to take our state back."
