City of Belleville Public Library Board of Trustees met Feb. 10.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
I. Call to order and safety instructions: Board Vice-President Helen Thompson called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m.

Also present: Leander Spearman, Library Director and Angela Riley Library Administrative Assistant.
II. Public Comments:
III. Approval of Minutes: Jamie Maitret moved the motion to accept the minutes of the January 13, 2022 Board Meeting. Motion was seconded by Mary Karban. Minutes were approved.
Personnel/Legal/Legislation: Leander Spearman reported that the Annual Illinois Legislative Meet-up will take place on February 14, 2022. He stated that this year’s meeting will be a virtual meeting. He invited the board to join the meeting.
IV. Policy:
V. Property, Equipment, and Service: Leander Spearman reported on the status of the employees that are training to become certified to process passports and notary services and when they will begin performing these services.
Leander Spearman reported on the plans for using the two outreach vans to take library services into the community. He stated that the library is also partnering with various agencies to assist in transporting equipment, supplies etc. in exchange for being able to promote the library and library services at their various stops. He also reported on some of the partnerships between the Library and Touchette Regional Hospital.
Leander Spearman stated that he is proceeding with looking into the installation of Solar Energy Panels. He is also looking into installing an EV charging station at the library as well.
VI. Finance: Mary Karban moved the motion to approve the February claims to be paid and Sara Rice, seconded. Roll Call Vote: 5 ayes. February Claims were approved.
VII. Fundraising/Foundations/Promotion/Marketing: Leander Spearman noted that the Friends Trivia Night is scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.

XI. Adjourn: The Motion was made by Jamie Maitret and seconded by Sara Rice to adjourn. Motion carried. The February, 2022 meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m. The next meeting of the Library Board of Directors will be held Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.
