SIUE golf posted one of its lowest team rounds in school history Monday, shooting 274, to surge into second place the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate.
The Cougars shaved 24 strokes off their first-round score and now trail only North Dakota State in the team standings. The 274 is the third lowest team round ever at SIUE.
Anthony Ruthey tied his career low with a second-round 67, set in the first round of last year's ODU/OBX Intercollegiate. The 67 is tied for the 17th lowest individual round at SIUE. Ruthey is four-under and is tied for second, six strokes behind North Dakota State's Nate Adams (-10)
Brooks Jungbluth also tied his career low with a 68 Tuesday. The 68 marks the ninth time in Jungbluth's career that he has carded a round in the 60s. Jungbluth is tied with teammate TJ Baker among a group at two-over par. They are tied for 11th.
Alex Eickhoff equaled his SIUE career high with a 69 Tuesday and is tied for 23rd. Brady Kaufmann is tied for 53rd at 152.
SIUE will be paired with North Dakota State and Georgetown in Tuesday's final round at Kilmarlic Golf Club. They will tee off beginning at 8:30 CT.
