In the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches' Poll released Friday, McKendree was one of 24 teams receiving votes in the third poll of the 2022-23 season. The Bearcats were seventh among the 24 teams earning votes in the poll.
McKendree, who won its last tournament as it finished first at the McKendree Bearcat Dual Gender held at Far Oaks Golf Club, earned 11 votes in the Oct. 28 poll and are one of three schools from the Great Lakes Valley Conference either ranked or receiving votes in this week's latest poll. UMSL is the only league school ranked as they are ranked 14th, while McKendree and Missouri S&T (5 votes) are the league schools that earned votes.
Anderson (S.C.) overtook the top spot in the poll as they headline the latest poll after winning all four of their fall tournaments. Anderson earned nine first place votes and 404 points. West Florida earned two first place votes and 402 points to sit second, while Barry earned five first place votes and 399 points and is ranked third. Grand Valley State andOklahoma Christian round out the Top 5 of the poll, Oklahoma Christian earned the final first place vote.
McKendree will conclude its 2022-23 fall schedule this weekend (Oct. 29-30) as the Bearcats will travel to Owensboro, Ky., to compete in the Kentucky Wesleyan College Fall Invitational at the Pearl Club.
