City of Jerseyville City Council met May 30.

Mayor Kevin Stork called the regular session of the Jerseyville City Council to order Tuesday, May 30th at City Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Present were Commissioners Anthony Steckel, Steve Pohlman, John Miles, and Mayor Stork. City Attorney William Strang was present.
Comm. Pohlman led the opening prayer and pledge of allegiance was recited.
MINUTES
A motion was made by Comm. Pohlman, seconded by Comm. Steckel, to approve the minutes from the regular meeting held Tuesday, May 16, 2023. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.
BILLS
A motion was made by Comm. Miles, seconded by Comm. Steckel, to approve the bills as presented for May 30, 2023, in the amount of $299,715.45. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried. Comm. Steckel mentioned the bill total included a significant payment to Stutz Excavating for Sandy Creek project. Director of Public Works Bob Manns stated this is not the last payout, there is retainage and other items yet to be paid.
NEW BUSINESS
A. A motion was made by Comm. Miles, seconded by Comm. Pohlman, to approve the acceptance of Rosewood Drive, from West County Road to IL Hwy 109, Jerseyville, as a City roadway, and related ownership and maintenance responsibilities. Director of Public Works Bob Manns reported he is satisfied with the work that 1st Mid America has completed around the ½ block of their facility, as agreed upon, which also included a sidewalk and is ready for Council approval. He also stated the City will be painting crosswalks and implementing necessary signage. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.
OTHER BUSINESS – Mayor Stork announced the following: Susnig Complex is closed for renovations until late fall 2023 with a temporary office located at 515 Mounds, Rock the Block first concert is June 30th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at East Arch Street with the OWLZ Band performing, and applications are being accepted for the position of Director of Tourism & Community Development.
Mayor Stork also wanted to thank all those who participated in the Memorial Day parade and ceremony.

Being no other business to be discussed, a motion was made by Comm. Steckel, seconded by Comm. Miles, to adjourn the meeting at 6:05 p.m. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.
