The Charitable Trust Stabilization Fund, established in 2007, aims to assist small non-profit organizations in Illinois. This fund is financed by the filing fees paid by not-for-profit organizations during their incorporation process with the State of Illinois. It is designed to support and uplift non-profit entities in the state.

The primary focus of the Charitable Trust is to extend help to small non-profits with annual budgets of $1 million or less. Moreover, special consideration will be given to grant applicants located in areas affected by pervasive poverty, unemployment, and economic distress. This ensures that the funds are directed towards organizations that serve communities most in need.

In the upcoming Spring 2024 Grant Cycle, which runs from January 1 to March 31, grants will be awarded to non-profit charitable programs falling under two categories: Food and Housing. Similarly, the Fall 2024 Grant Cycle, scheduled from July 1 to September 30, will distribute grants to organizations in two categories: Food and Economic & Workforce Development. This segmentation facilitates a targeted approach, allowing funds to address critical areas of need within the non-profit sector.

Since its inception, the Charitable Trust Grant program has already made a significant impact. To date, $4.2 Million has been awarded to 211 charitable organizations across 65 cities in Illinois. This demonstrates the program's commitment to supporting a wide range of non-profit entities and making a tangible difference in communities throughout the state.

Non-profit organizations in Illinois are encouraged to explore this valuable grant opportunity. More information about the Illinois Charitable Trust Grant program can be found on the official website of the Illinois State Treasurer, Michael W. Frerichs, under the Charitable Trust section (illinoistreasurer.gov).

In the words of Michael W. Frerichs, the Illinois State Treasurer, "The Charitable Trust Grant program is a vital resource for small non-profits in Illinois. By providing financial support to organizations serving vulnerable communities, we are fostering positive change and making a lasting impact on the lives of many."

This grant program serves as a beacon of hope for non-profit organizations in Illinois, offering them the opportunity to expand their reach and continue their important work in addressing critical social issues.
