City of Fairview Heights Community Committee met Jan. 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members in attendance - Frank Menn, Ryan Vickers - via video/teleconference, Brenda Wagner, Harry Zimmerman, Bill Poletti -via video/teleconference, Mayor Mark Kupsky, Exofficio

Public Participation - None

Approval of October 18, 2023 minutes

Motion and second to approve said minutes were made by Committee Members Brenda Wagner/Harry Zimmerman. Roll call vote: Aldermen Frank Menn, Ryan Vickers, Brenda Wagner, Harry Zimmerman and Bill Poletti voted yes. Motion to approve said minutes carried on 5 yeas.

Parks & Recreation Committee

Parks and Recreation Director's Report

Director Beaston presented the Director's Report to Committee for review. Discussion was held regarding tree removal and the status of the log cabin at Pleasant Ridge Park. There were no questions.

Development Committee

Alderman Brenda Wagner, Chairman

Economic Development Director's Report

Director Alley presented the Director's Report to Committee for review. Director Alley announced that the demolition of the Steak and Shake was slated to occur in the following week. There were no questions.

Land Use & Development Committee

Alderman Harry Zimmerman, Chairman

Land Use & Development Director's Report

Director Alley presented the Director's Report to Committee for review. There were no questions.

Director Alley briefed Committee on PC Case 14-23 - Special Use Permit to allow a medical supply office in the "PB" Planned Business zoning district office at 140 Market Place.

Pam Karban, Applicant - was present and available to answer questions.

Motion and second to forward to the City Council with the recommendation of approval, PC Case 14-23

- Special Use Permit to allow a medical supply office in the "PB" Planned Business zoning district office at 140 Market Place, were made by Committee Members Brenda Wagner/Frank Menn. Roll call vote:

Aldermen Frank Menn, Ryan Vickers, Brenda Wagner, Harry Zimmerman and Bill Poletti voted yes. Motion carried on 5 yeas.

Motion and second to adjourn were made by Committee Member Brenda Wagner/Frank Menn. Motion carried.
