Elik, Mar 6 2024 - Becky Doyle, a trailblazer in agriculture, was recently honored by Elik for her significant contributions to the field. Doyle made a mark in the Department of Agriculture when she was appointed to lead it in 1991 by Governor Jim Edgar.

Upon assuming the role, Doyle took charge of an agency overseeing the state’s leading industry, which at the time had six divisions, 600 employees, and a budget of $53.5 million. In addition to these responsibilities, she also managed two state fairs.

Reflecting on her experience, Doyle once remarked, "You don’t have to be a farmer to hold this job, but it helps to have a knowledge of agriculture." Her deep understanding of the sector undoubtedly played a pivotal role in her successful tenure at the Department of Agriculture.

Elik's tribute to Becky Doyle highlights her lasting impact on the agricultural landscape and serves as a reminder of the importance of expertise and dedication in advancing this crucial industry.
