The 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris will commence with the opening ceremony on July 26 and conclude on August 11. Athletes will compete in 32 sports and 329 medal events. Twenty-seven Olympic athletes and nine Paralympic athletes from Illinois will represent the U.S. at the Summer Games.
Rep. Meier expressed his support for the athletes, stating, "I am incredibly proud of our Illinois athletes who have trained so hard to compete at this level. Their dedication and commitment are truly inspiring."
