Rep. Schmidt attended a Change of Command ceremony at Scott Air Force Base, where Air Mobility Command (AMC) officially welcomed its new commander. Gen. John D. Lamontagne assumed command from Gen. Michael A. Minihan, who is retiring after 34 years of service.
"AMC provides critical support to America’s military through airlift, aerial refueling, aeromedical evacuation, and air mobility operations," said Rep. Schmidt. The command also plays a significant role in responding to humanitarian crises worldwide.
"Thank you to all who attended and all who were involved with this beautiful ceremony at Scott AFB," Rep. Schmidt added.
