On Tuesday, during the City of Edwardsville's city council meeting, Senator Harriss presented Official Senate Certificates to four individuals whose actions saved lives during an apartment building fire last month. Police Chief Mike Fillback and Fire Chief Brendan McKee joined her in recognizing Katy Clark, Nikki McCormick, Eli Brown, and Alexis Young with Citizen Commendation Awards.
These individuals alerted residents of the fire by knocking on doors and helped evacuate the building. Their efforts ensured that no injuries were reported. Senator Harriss expressed her gratitude to them and first responders for their lifesaving actions.
