FOIA Request to City of O'Fallon Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Metro East Sun have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. We have requested records from the City of O'Fallon pertaining to all unpaid parking violations.
Our request specifically seeks information about the name of the offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date of violation, and total due. We believe that access to these public records is essential in order for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
Given our role in disseminating information to the public as a media organization, we have also requested a fee waiver for this information. We will continue to keep you updated as we receive more information regarding this matter.
