FOIA Request to City of Grafton Regarding New and Active Residential and Commercial Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Metro East Sun have requested records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act from the City of Grafton. The request specifically pertains to all new residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023, till today's date.
The information sought includes the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester details, address associated with the permit, and contractor name. In addition to this data for new permits, we have also requested similar information for all currently active residential and commercial building permits along with their status.
Access to public records is essential for us at Metro East Sun to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
