State Senator Erica Harriss partnered with Meridian Illinois to distribute 100 free Thanksgiving turkeys at the Crisis Food Center in Alton. The event aimed to support families across the 56th District during the holiday season.
"We are truly fortunate to partner with Meridian and the Crisis Food Center to ensure families across the 56th District can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together," said Senator Harriss. "Thanksgiving is a special time to gather with loved ones and reflect on the many blessings in our lives."
Senator Harriss, along with representatives from Meridian Illinois and the Crisis Food Center, personally delivered turkeys to families prioritized based on need. The initiative was part of a broader effort by Meridian Illinois to assist communities statewide before Thanksgiving.
