House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Chairman Mike Bost has been reappointed to his position for the 119th Congress. The Republican Steering Committee confirmed Bost's continuation as chairman, allowing him to further pursue his goals for veterans' services.
Chairman Bost expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by his colleagues. "It is a deep honor to have the trust of my colleagues to continue leading the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs in the 119th Congress," he stated. He emphasized that the mission of the committee is personal to him and will remain so.
Reflecting on the past year, Bost highlighted progress made in identifying gaps in VA care, benefits, and services. His aim is to reduce governmental barriers and enhance outcomes for veterans and their families. He also noted efforts to hold the Biden-Harris administration accountable to those they serve.
Looking forward, Bost anticipates working with the Trump administration and fellow Republican members in both houses of Congress. His objectives include expanding economic opportunities, advocating for veterans' healthcare choices, restoring accountability at the VA, and protecting veterans' rights. "We have no greater mission – and I look forward to getting it done," he concluded.
