Kevin Schmidt has been sworn in for his second term as State Representative for Illinois' 114th District. Representing the Republican party, Schmidt expressed gratitude to his constituents, stating, “I’m so honored that the 114th District has placed their trust in me once again.” He emphasized his commitment to being a voice for the community rather than conforming to political norms in Springfield.

During his first term, Schmidt maintained a bipartisan voting record, advocating for fiscally responsible policies impacting his district. Addressing future challenges, he stated, “We have big challenges ahead in Illinois and I will work every day to find solutions that will bring jobs back, lower the tax burden, and support our first responders.” He also highlighted his opposition to legislative pay raises and mentioned donating those funds back to the community monthly.

Schmidt's office focuses on community engagement through various free events such as shred days, job fairs, property tax seminars, and town halls. Constituents are encouraged to visit RepSchmidt.com for updates on these activities.

In addition to his legislative role, Schmidt is a chiropractor and owns Schmidt Chiropractic. His community involvement includes past service on the Millstadt Chamber of Commerce board and current membership in organizations like the NRA. He is also a Mason and Shriner. Residing in Millstadt with his wife Laura and their two sons Luke and Dean, Schmidt continues to be an active member of his community.

The 114th district covers parts or all of several areas including Belleville, East St. Louis, Cahokia Heights, Dupo, Freeburg, Lebanon, Millstadt, Mascoutah, New Athens, New Baden, O’Fallon, Smithton, and Washington Park.
