Illinois State Representative Amy Elik has been reappointed as the Assistant House Republican Leader. The announcement was made by House Republican Leader Tony McCombie, who expressed confidence in Elik's capabilities.
“It’s such an honor to serve again as Assistant House Republican Leader with Leader Tony McCombie,” stated Rep. Amy Elik. She emphasized her commitment to addressing the challenges faced by Illinois and highlighted the opportunity to benefit residents across the state.
Elik is part of a team of lawmakers set to lead the House Republican caucus during the 104th General Assembly. McCombie praised Elik, stating, “Amy is a tremendous asset to our caucus, and I am thrilled to have her on my leadership team.” She credited Elik for being a fiscal watchdog and holding the majority party accountable.
In addition to her leadership role, Elik will continue serving on the Legislative Audit Commission, which oversees the State Audit Program. This marks her second term on this bicameral committee.
Elik represents Illinois' 111th House District, which includes part of Madison County.
