State Senator Erica Harriss has launched her annual "Valentines for Seniors" Card Drive, seeking community participation to create cards for seniors in the area. The initiative aims to bring joy to local seniors in nursing homes, assisted-living, and long-term care facilities.

"This card drive is a simple but meaningful way for our community to spread love and joy to those who may feel overlooked on a day centered around love," stated Senator Harriss. "Through this initiative, we hope to brighten the day of local seniors in nursing homes, assisted-living, and long-term care facilities."

Senator Harriss encourages students, scout troops, churches, families, and community groups to contribute by making homemade Valentine’s Day cards. These will be delivered personally to residents across the 56th District.

Participants can drop off their cards at Senator Harriss’ District Office located at 120 North Main Street, Suite 1B, Edwardsville until February 7, 2025. Cards are accepted during office hours from Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., or they can be left in the mailbox outside the office after hours.

For further details about the initiative, Amanda Brown can be contacted at abrown@sgop.ilga.gov or through Senator Harriss’ District Office at 618-307-5789.
