Mascoutah Steak House has been recognized as the February Business of the Month by Representative Kevin Schmidt, who represents the 114th District. This marks the first time Rep. Schmidt has awarded this honor, following submissions from across his district.

Rep. Schmidt visited Mascoutah Steak House to present an official certificate to the owner and staff, acknowledging their contribution to the community. The steak house is a family-owned business that has operated in Mascoutah for over twelve years under owner Nicole Vernier. The establishment is known for hosting community organizations like Rotary Club and Zonta, providing a venue for regular meetings.

Rep. Schmidt highlighted that despite Illinois not being particularly friendly to small businesses, Mascoutah Steak House continues to thrive by offering affordable food in a unique environment. "This restaurant deserves recognition for their commitment to their customers and staff," he said.
