Rep. Schmidt expressed gratitude to the residents of the 114th District for their participation in a Valentine’s Day initiative aimed at honoring veterans. The "Valentine for Veterans Card Drive" resulted in over 700 cards being collected and distributed to veterans residing in senior living facilities across O’Fallon, Freeburg, Mascoutah, and Millstadt.

"I am beyond thankful to have such great constituents who care about their community and veterans," Rep. Schmidt stated. During the delivery of cards and candy, she also engaged in conversations with several veterans, including Navy veterans Loren Steele and Marty Angel, as well as a Marine veteran.
