When State Representative Kevin Schmidt took office, he committed to donating his legislative pay raise to local food banks and charity organizations in the 114th District. Recently, Rep. Schmidt fulfilled this promise by delivering essential items to the Smithton Food Pantry.
Rep. Schmidt expressed his gratitude for being able to assist those in need: “I’m grateful to be in a position to help others in need of daily essentials,” said Rep. Schmidt. He acknowledged the impact of living costs on families in Illinois, especially those less fortunate, and emphasized that small actions can significantly benefit communities. He also thanked Mark Rodriguez for volunteering alongside him.
The Smithton Food Pantry provides free food and personal hygiene items to individuals in need within the community. The pantry relies on local volunteers for distributing donations.
