State Representative Amy Elik (R-Alton) is collaborating with an expert from the Illinois Attorney General’s Office to organize a seminar aimed at protecting seniors from fraud. The event will take place at the Nameoki Township Building in Granite City next week, offering a presentation and Q&A session on safeguarding against fraudulent activities.

The seminar, which is free and open to seniors, is scheduled for Friday, March 14, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. It aims to educate attendees on recognizing and preventing potential fraud attempts and utilizing resources like the Attorney General’s Senior Help Line.

Rep. Amy Elik emphasized the importance of equipping seniors with tools to combat scams. “We have to ensure that our seniors are equipped to deal with the ever-growing, sophisticated scams that target our vulnerable,” she stated. “That’s why I’m teaming up with an expert from the Attorney General’s office to make sure our seniors know what tools are out there and how to use them. We will educate the community with the knowledge and resources to protect themselves from exploitation.”

For further inquiries, individuals can contact Rep. Elik’s District Office at 618-433-8046 or via email at elik@ilhousegop.org.
