Aziza Butler, a homeschool advocate and former teacher within Chicago Public Schools, provided testimony in a committee discussing the Homeschool Act (HB 2827) earlier this month. In addition, she penned a letter to the Chicago Tribune articulating her concerns that the act could negatively impact homeschool students as well as other students throughout Illinois.

Representative Amy Elik, the Republican Spokesperson for the House Education Policy Committee, commented on Butler's involvement. "I’ve gotten to know Aziza Butler through her advocacy against the Homeschool Act," said Elik. "Her voice has been so important in our fight against this bill. I stand with the tens of thousands of Illinois families in fighting AGAINST the Homeschool Act!"

The full content of Butler's letter can be accessed in the Chicago Tribune for further insights.
