Rep. Amy Elik, a Republican from Alton, alongside former Rep. Dan Beiser, a Democrat from Godfrey, engaged with fourth-grade students at St. Mary's in Alton. The visit focused on informing the students about the workings of the state legislature, the state's Capitol, and the responsibilities of a State Representative.

During the session, Rep. Elik noted, “It was such a great time.” She added that the discussion included topics of faith and party beliefs. Importantly, both representatives aimed to demonstrate bipartisan cooperation. “They definitely asked great questions!” Elik remarked.

The event highlighted efforts to educate young students on civics and promote understanding across political lines.
