City of Fairview Heights City Council met May 20

The regular meeting of the Fairview Heights City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Mark T. Kupsky in the City Council Chambers, 10025 Bunkum Road, Fairview Heights, IL and also conducted virtually for guest attendees and City Council members per Resolution 4391-2021 with the Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation by City Clerk Karen Kaufhold.
ROLL CALL
Roll call of Aldermen present: Harry Zimmerman, Pat Peck, Anthony LeFlore, Bill Poletti, Frank Menn, Josh Frawley, Derrick King, James Winkeler, Barbara Brumfield and Brenda Wagner. City Clerk Karen Kaufhold and Attorney Andrew Hoerner were present.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
E. Scott Rich - expressed his support to the Police Department. Mr. Rich announced he is also representing Quail Forever Chapter; they had planted over 1500 trees and have made animal habitat improvements.
CONSENT AGENDA
Alderman Bill Poletti moved to approve the May 6th, 2025 City Council Meeting minutes and Finance Director's Report and the bills and invoices presented for payment in the amount of $2,509,896.24.
Seconded by Alderman Anthony LeFlore.

The Mayor announced that the Community Committee Meeting will be on May 21, 2025 at 7:00 Р.М.
COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MAYOR
The Mayor started by introducing Libby Rich, a member of Beautification Committee. Three police officers were injured in an incident, prompting the Mayor to offer a moment of prayer and thanks to all the Police Officers for their bravery, dedication and service. Mayor Kupsky thanked the community for their outpouring of generosity, but at this time, kindly suggested gift card donations in place of food items. In addition, Alderman Frank Menn, commended the Mayor for his support of the Officers.
Alderman Brenda Wagner, spoke regarding the thoughtfulness of the two new Aldermen and expressed her appreciation of the support from all City Council Members. Alderman Wagner was grateful how the City Council members came together as a consensus to support the police Department.

Motion passed with 10 yeas.
