Rep. Mike Bost, a U.S. Congressman from Illinois, shared updates on recent federal funding and legislative efforts in a series of posts on his official X account in August 2025.

On August 18, Bost announced new resources for overdose response in Lawrence County, stating: "Excited to announce $300,000 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for Lawrence County to boost overdose response efforts. Mike Bost has served as a congressional representative for Illinois since winning his first election in 2014 against William L. Enyart. He has consistently secured re-election victories over various opponents: Charles Baricevic (2016), Brendan Kelly (2018), Raymond Lenzi (2020), and Chip Markel (2022). His margins of victory have ranged from just over half the vote share in earlier races to three-quarters by 2022.
