Rep. Mike Bost, U.S. Congressman from Illinois, marked several significant moments and meetings in a series of posts on September 3, 2025. His tweets addressed both historical remembrance and current legislative activity.

On the morning of September 3, Bost reflected on the anniversary of the end of World War II: "Today we remember V-J Day, the day Japan officially surrendered and World War II came to an end. It was a turning point in history and a victory made possible by the incredible sacrifice of the Greatest Generation. Later that day, Bost commented on his experience presiding over the House: "When you’re presiding over the House and certain members refuse to abide by the rules, it can be frustrating. In another post that evening, Bost shared details about his meeting with Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink regarding Scott Air Force Base: "This morning, I sat down with Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink to talk about the future of Scott Air Force Base. SAFB is under consideration to receive the new KC-46 refueling aircraft, and I made sure to reinforce that there would be no better home than the 126th Air" (posted at 22:03 UTC).

Mike Bost has represented Illinois in Congress since first winning election in 2014 against William L. Enyart. He has consistently secured re-election victories in subsequent years—defeating Charles Baricevic in 2016, Brendan Kelly in 2018, Raymond Lenzi in 2020, and Chip Markel in 2022—with margins ranging from just over half to three-quarters of total votes cast.
