Rep. Mike Bost, U.S. Congressman from Illinois, used his social media platform this week to commemorate significant events and legislative actions, including honoring Charlie Kirk and reflecting on the anniversary of September 11.

On September 11, 2025, Bost paid tribute to a fellow Illinoisan by stating, "Charlie Kirk was a native son of Illinois whose faith, love of family, and commitment to thoughtfully engaging young people in the political process will leave a lasting mark. Later that day, he reflected on the impact of the September 11 attacks: "Anyone old enough remembers where they were on September 11, 2001. Even today, 24 years later, the wounds feel fresh for many. On September 12, Bost highlighted his recent legislative activity: "I voted this week for a Defense authorization bill that strengthens our military, provides a well-deserved pay raise to our troops, and helps military families. The bill includes the BOOTS Act, which I cosponsored to make sure combat boots are made in the U.S. at facilities like".

Mike Bost has represented Illinois in Congress since winning his first election in 2014 against William L. Enyart with over half of the vote (52.5%). He has consistently secured re-election in subsequent cycles—defeating Charles Baricevic in 2016 (54.3%), Brendan Kelly in 2018 (51.6%), Raymond Lenzi in 2020 (60.4%), and Chip Markel most recently in 2022 with a decisive margin (75%).
